Welcome Dear Readers...

Wendy Tarasoff is a Canadian children's book author, editor, and storyteller based in Penticton, British Columbia. Across more than a dozen titles, her work moves easily between gentle picture books for young readers, practical guides for fellow writers, and richer fiction for grown-ups, all rooted in a lifelong love of language and a household where stories were told around the kitchen table long before they were ever written down.
That early oral tradition shaped everything that came after. Wendy went on to complete her degree in English at Simon Fraser University, and she discovered along the way that words and sentences were the difference between writing that fell flat and writing that moved people. She has since won a poetry award judged by the Mayor of New Westminster and one of Canada's Poet Laureates, a quiet milestone that confirmed what she already suspected about the power of a well-built line.
Her children's books are where many readers first meet her. Scare Away the Dark turns a child's fear of the dark into a warm bedtime adventure. Dragon's Pearl follows a young boy named Daniel who befriends a dragon and is drawn into an epic battle to save Atlantis, alongside fairies, a wizard, and a memorable cast of creatures. Her beloved Freddie, the Talking Mouse series is available in both English and Spanish, opening her stories to bilingual families and young readers learning a second language.
Wendy writes for grown readers too. The Secret Sauce of Sentences distills her hard-won understanding of sentence structure into a friendly guide for anyone who wants to write with more confidence, and her romance thriller Diamond showcases her range across genre and tone, also available in English and Spanish.
Beyond her own books, Wendy is the owner of Turtle Publications and works as a professional editor, helping fellow authors shape, polish, and publish their stories. She edited and contributed to Little Red Radio: 40 Years Working in Small Radio, a memoir of the British Columbia broadcasting world, and she keeps designers on hand for authors who need a standout book cover. For Wendy, publishing has always been a community effort as much as a creative one.
Today, Wendy continues to write, edit, and champion other storytellers from her home in the Okanagan. Readers and authors are warmly invited to explore her books, follow her latest work, and reach out directly.
